Aging is simply a part of life, right? Life brings with it inevitable changes that we all must face, but what if I told you that there was something you could do to take your life back?
We all do what we can to stay in good health, but inevitably there comes times when our bodies simply cannot keep up with the pace of ever-evolving life.
As men age, free (bio-available) testosterone naturally declines. Testosterone levels begin to decline by about 1% per year starting in some men as young as 30 years old. This is a natural part of life that the majority of men will experience.
Testosterone is a hormone found in men, and in lesser extent in women as well. Testosterone is a key player in many aspects of a man’s physical and mental makeup.
Responsible for a man’s sex drive, “T” is also a key player in a man’s muscle and bone development. Testosterone is also credited for men’s deep voices, developed or larger muscles, facial hair, sperm, and red blood cell production. Testosterone also contributes to the frequency and quality of a man’s normal erections.
Beyond these physical attributes, proper “T” levels can also boost mood and aid in healthy brain function.
As men age, they may begin to notice the normal changes that go along with it. Testosterone levels in men begin to drop naturally, at a rate of about 1% per year, starting in our forties. As this may continue into a man’s ’50s and ’60s, they may begin to experience adverse effects of low T. These symptoms can include lowered sex drive, a lessened sense of vitality, erectile dysfunction, and decreased energy. Lowering Testosterone levels are also attributed to a reduction in muscle mass and bone density. In some cases, men experiencing low “T” also suffered from anemia.
This underdiagnosed issue affects anywhere from two to six million men in the US. You are not alone
A recent survey showing the top concerns of aging men suggests decreasing sexual health, as well as physical weakness, are the top concerns shared by many.
In a word, YES. At Innovative Men’s Health, we specialize in helping men reclaim their vitality through Testosterone Replacement Therapy, but more on that later on.
The primary sign of low testosterone is lessened sexual desire or libido, sometimes showing itself as erectile dysfunction. Men can also experience difficulty achieving an orgasm, or a decreased intensity or volume of fluid while ejaculating. Some men also experience numbness in situations that would be found arousing under normal circumstances.
Men and women age differently, and men obviously do not experience sudden changes attributed to menopause. However, men do go through something called “Andropause” which can negatively impact sexual health, energy levels, and physical strength as well.
Other symptoms of low testosterone can include weight gain, feelings of depression, moodiness, low self-esteem, lessening body hair, and weakened bones. The more of these symptoms a man has, the more likely he is to be diagnosed with low testosterone.
That’s where Innovative Men’s Health is changing lives with Testosterone Replacement Therapy.
Innovative Men’s Health is Washington state’s Premier health clinic for the treatment of low testosterone. At Innovative Men's, we are dedicated to helping men reverse issues related to aging. We specialize in sexual health and low testosterone.
Testosterone Replacement Therapy has been shown to be a safe and effective method for treating men with low T, with therapy proven beneficial when administered under the supervision of a licensed medical doctor.
There are two main ways to test for a man’s testosterone levels. A talk with a doctor will help to understand any characteristic symptoms and signs a man might have. Generally speaking, men possessing the most correlated symptoms have the highest likelihood of in fact suffering from low T. A blood test can also be administered to verify levels in the blood and provide a clearer picture of the issues at hand.
Testosterone levels are counted, with levels 700-1100 generally being associated with mental clarity, great energy levels, good muscle mass, reduced body fat, improved sleep and sexual function, and good overall health. If a reading comes back below 700, then corrective treatment is recommended.
T levels of 550 and above can protect a man from heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, osteoporosis, and depression.
Tested T levels below 300 have been associated with sudden cardiac death and prostate cancer. For men in this category, immediate corrective treatment is recommended.
If your results show you have low T, you may be a candidate for Testosterone Replacement Therapy. Testosterone can be administered orally, through injections, or with gels or patches on top of the skin.
Innovative Men’s highly specialized medical staff will help to guide you towards the most effective and well-suited treatment option tailored to your personal needs.
During your initial appointment, learning more about your age and personal health history may help determine what tests are necessary. For most patients, we measure for total testosterone, free testosterone, and PSA levels. For younger patients, it may be necessary to measure luteinizing hormone (LH).
For those with diabetes, measuring estradiol may lead to the prescription of an aromatase inhibitor, preventing testosterone from converting to estrogen. For those suffering metabolic diseases, this conversion can occur in fat and other cells in the body. Men receiving T therapy previously with limited results may be suffering from this estrogen conversion preventing true benefits.
With all that we have known that testosterone effects, it is not a stretch to say that testosterone therapy can reverse the negative effects of aging and truly change your life.
Testosterone Therapy for men may improve energy levels, increase libido, and eradicate erection problems. TRT can result in increased muscle mass, overall strength, decreased fat mass, and improved bone mineral density. Other benefits include improvements in blood sugar regulation in diabetic patients, as well as proving effective in the treatment of osteoporosis.
TRT is not recommended for everyone. To find out if TRT is right for you, set-up your consultation with Innovative Men’s Health today at one of our six locations throughout Washington.
TRT is not recommended for men with prostate or breast cancer. Others experiencing untreated obstructive sleep apnea, or severe lower urinary tract symptoms are not generally eligible for TRT. Those who have experienced a class III or IV heart failure are also not candidates for TRT. The only way to truly know if TRT is right for you is to talk with a doctor.

It could be said that testosterone is what makes men, men. It gives them their characteristic deep voices, large muscles, and facial and body hair. It plays a role in sperm production, fuels libido, and contributes to normal erections. It also fosters the production of red blood cells, boosts mood, and aids cognition.
