My name is Dr. Marc DiJulio. I am the Medical Director of the Lynnwood Innovative Men's Health office. I was trained as a nutritionist before I became a doctor. I wrote the Diet Plan that Innovative Doctor's Group uses. It is based only on sound physiologic principles. You do not have to drink 3 gallons of green tea or consume a bushel of kale to be successful. But you do need to pay attention to those basic principles if you want to have a life without yo-yo-ing weight issues.
If you are reading this, you are not satisfied with your weight or maybe you feel someone might benefit from what we have to offer. Either way, you are probably too familiar with the up and down nature of folks that can never seem to keep their weight down to a manageable level. The reason this happens is because of The Body Set Point.
Right now, your brain believes it needs to feed a body that weighs what you weigh now, even if it is not your ideal weight. Your brain does not look in the mirror. If you lose weight, the brain will still want to feed the heavier body it had become used to. The importance of sustained weight loss is to RESET the body set point. This takes months at the new weight. Which is why this program works. If you see your weight sneaking up, you just go back to one of the levels and keep the weight down. Your incentive is to NOT go back to old habits. If you gain weight, it reinforces the old set point. You don’t want to take 1 step forward and 2 steps back. This is critical for sustaining a new body structure.
Phentermine is a safe appetite suppressant. Its primary purpose is to help you through the initial period (off carbohydrates) when dieting is so difficult, those first several weeks. Then it provides periodic help during difficult times, or to help you stay on track. It is safe to use long term, but my goal is to help you adapt to a few simple changes in your eating behaviors that become the norm.
The diet by itself can be very successful if the client follows it to the letter. This is not difficult. Many can lose 25-30 pounds in the first 9 weeks without phentermine. The phentermine makes it a bit easier. It also provides the “training” so that you do not gain the weight back. Rapid weight loss is good, but only if you maintain the weight loss for an extended period of time (see Body Set Point). It also teaches you a very simple framework for eating in a way that is far healthier without having to eat differently from everyone else.
For those of you that want to “get in shape” along with weight loss, and have had trouble maintaining muscle mass, TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy) may be very helpful. Both men and women have declining amounts of testosterone over time. Women who have had ovarian disease, menopause, or have had a hysterectomy, may have little or no testosterone along with an estrogen deficiency. You can discuss this with your Innovative physician

It could be said that testosterone is what makes men, men. It gives them their characteristic deep voices, large muscles, and facial and body hair. It plays a role in sperm production, fuels libido, and contributes to normal erections. It also fosters the production of red blood cells, boosts mood, and aids cognition.
